We would like to introduce to Sydney’s newest musical sensation
Ennio Lee, who are very close to our heart because one half of them is
Kristy Lee, who you might remember us talking about last year.
Kristy Lee and Adam, (the other half) met after many a late night DJ’ing in Sydney clubs. The pair began to beat out some tunes together and the rest is history.
They have three tunes already doing the rounds on the Internet and we have a feeling it won’t be long before they hit the radio.
We caught up with the pair to find out a few more details but before we hand over to them, we’ll give it to you in short.
Adam started playing piano when he was four and tried his hand at every other instrument possible until eventually he found he was kind of really good at this music thing. Since then he has remixed for some of the biggest dance labels in the world, think Dim Mak and Southern Fried, and performed throughout Europe, Asia and USA. No matter where he is though you hardly ever find Adam without an electric cigarette.
We have told you quite a bit about Kirsty before but lets recap…Kristy started young, singing for TV commercials and 90’s girl bands in her dad’s studio. From there she graduated to singing for Nic and Sam Littlemore on several Pnau tracks including "Baby" and most recently Tonight Only's "We Run The Night". She has since sung (like an adult!) for the likes of Infusion, IOTA, Laura Imbruglia, Volvo and Mitsubishi.
This is what the pair had to say about growing up and smoking electric cigarettes….
Firstly, Adam, what are electric cigarettes? What do they taste like?
They are literally an electric form of cigarette. There's a vaporiser in them that heats up a liquid that even makes steam, so it looks like you're breathing out smoke. You can choose different flavours so they can taste like anything - cherry, coffee, cheescake etc.
What can we expect from your up and coming live performances?
As many live instruments that the two of us can handle! Other than that, a guy on our facebook page is currently petitioning to get a bunch of people in the audience to come along pantless. We totally encourage this type of behaviour!
How would you describe the music you have made so far in three words?
3am kite flying
How would describe the difference between your adult voice and your child voice Kristy?
There isn't much of a difference these days, in fact, they've blurred together so much that I have to carry my passport around to remember my real age.
Where are we most likely to find you guys when you aren't mixing beats?
Adam, smoking electric ciggies on a plane to Beirut to attend a wedding or two.
Kristy, eating vegetarian pizza on a plane to india to attend a peace rally or two.
What do you do to get your inspiration flowing in a writing session?
Create as much drama as we both possibly can in our lives.
Have a fight or two.
Call each other names.
Then force ourselves to sit in the same room and not leave till a song appears.
Do you have a favourite brain food?
Adam, poptarts
Kristy, Tea and Muesli
Which song is your favourite so far?
Adam, High is my fav so far for the melodies.
Kristy, my fav is actually one we are yet to complete. We started working on it today and it's driving me mental, can't get it out of my head - in a good way.
What is the best thing about being a musician?
Adam, never having to go to 'work'
Kristy, as above, and the free drink cards
What is the worst?
Adam, staying up late
Kristy, as above, and the free drinks
if you weren't making music what would you be doing?
Adam, back in italy full of beer and pasta and working 9-5 as a concretor
Kristy, married with 2.5 kids living on a desert island growing a vege garden and waiting for the soon approaching end of the world.
So there you have it in a nutshell.
