THE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE HOUSE PARTY DJ's

oh yeah, that's right.
They're stepping it up this Wednesday night at ODD's & EVENs. Who knows what the hell they are going to bring to the table. I'm excited... with a name like that, how can they disappoint?

Wednesday 2nd March
7pm - Ching-a-lings, 133 Oxford Street
KP + THE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE HOUSE PARTY DJ's

Mixity Mix tapes

I've been picking at a new mixtape over the past day or so... I'm struggling to select one genre to use so I think I'm just going to fuck off any rhyme or reason and make whatever I feel like at the time. Expect a random insight into my current state of mind soon...

P.s. loving the latest Ableton Live. Sooo much neater and quicker!

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (Director: Tarik Saleh)

I can't get enough of this song. And the film clip is truly mesmerising.

It's SG time again

I'm playing in the Pitt street Sportsgirl store tonight and on saturday.
Come down (and bring me a cup of tea) while I play some lady loving tunes.

THURSDAY 27th FEB 3-7pm
SATURDAY 29th FEB 1-4pm

LaPRAT$ laying it down.

LAPRAT$ (a.k.a. Erin, Estelle and Jess) absolutely nailed it on Wednesday at ODDs & EVENs. I was blown away with their song selection, and then some dance moves that come out of the woodworks later in the evening too. I'm hoping they will come back and grace the Ching-a-lings decks with their skills again soon. Check out some photos below... starting off with yours truly getting involved in the action...

KNEE DEEP

My good friend Saez is hosting another one of his rad nights at Chinga-lings tomorrow.

Stuff you need to know... hosted by Lovebombs and High Hopes Crew, it's called KNEE DEEP, it's FREE, there is a BBQ that will start early (weather permitting), funk/soul/hip hop/future music beats provided by djs Oolam Brothers, Yelo Magic, Planet Oeuf, 40 love and friends.

Sounds good? I think yes. See you there.

LAPRAT$

Wednesday night the LAPRAT$ (Erin + Co) will be coming down to Ching-a-lings to play some tunes with yours truly.
Who knows what treasures they will bring along with them.
We'll be there from 7pm onwards, bar closes at 11pm - so you snooze, you lose.

DJ duo debut

Last Wednesday, the PERVES (Hollie and Edwina) played some tunes with me at Chingalings for ODDS & EVENS - and I have to say that I was mighty impressed with their song selection.
They will hopefully come down and play again soon (stay tuned) but for now here is a sneak peak of them in action.

You'll notice also the brand spanking new painting behind the wall of drinks
- this is Hollie's amazing work! It really makes all the booze shine ;)

Banned in TWO DAYS

For those of you who had noticed I had created an alias "tracebook" account (purely for the purpose of creating and advertising events etc) - you will soon see that I have disappeared.

I received an email saying that my account had been disabled as they noticed suspicious activity. I do agree that me joining up is pretty darn suspicious all together - but I didn't think I was that much of a threat ;)

The ONLY way for me to go back on is to provide a mobile contact number OR a scanned copy of my government ID. WTF!!!?? Um... No thanks.

Think I'll stay off your social networking site for a while longer... again.

Back to gigging

The band is back this week with our first gig since NYE.
It's all the way in Bundeena...
I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the drive home.
Where's my personal chauffeur when I need one?

ODDS & EVENS TONIGHT

Roll the dice and get lucky.
Tunes all night provided by myself (KP) and the PERVES

It's a PERVY wednesday

Come down to Chingalings tomorrow (Wednesday) night to see some true PERVES play some tunes. As always on Wednesday nights, it's ODDs & EVENS, so roll the dice and you might get lucky. From 7ish...

Happy commercial holiday day!

I really don't mean to be such a downer. I just wish people did nice things for each other as opposed to spending money and buying love. Love is free. There should never be any particular day for showing love and kindness. Don't wait for the calendar to tell you when to love.

True romantics think it's V day, EVERY day.

Peace and Love

Good Vibes was on sat and once again it was sadly a very wet and rainy day. I don't think it stopped everyone having a rad time though and I definitely had fun playing, eating all the lollies and getting my nails done for free in the Sportsgirl tent.

Now, for those of you out there slamming the performance of the wonderful lady pictured below here - you obviously just didn't get it. She was flawless. Her voice, presence, band, songs... and her SPEECH! She killed it. I would put that down as one of the best performances/live shows I have seen - EVER.

Nuff said. More Erykah. Peace and Love.

KP festival survivial plan:

I have to say that some of my festival memories could have been a whole lot nicer if I had only planned a little more for the day. So in preparation for GOOD VIBES this saturday, I've come up with my top 10 things to take to a festival to make the day all soooo smooooth...

1. Comfy Bag. Not too big, not too small and has a zip so you can keep everything safe while pushing through the crowds.
 2. Lip balm. Ladies, need I explain?
 3. Sunglasses. That is unless of course you want to add a few forehead wrinkles to your face due to excess squinting.
 4. Water. I'm pretty sure they won't let you take bottles in (crazy eh?!) so make sure you get one first thing to avoid the hefty lines later in the day when you're really thirsty.
 5. Comfy shoes. I once spent a whole day at a Big Day Out in absolte agony because I thought it was a good decision to wear shoes a size too small for me. Big mistake.
 6. ID - Not only so you can buy yourself a cold beer, but I think you may need these puppies just to walk in the gates now.
 7. A fully charged Phone - The worst thing that can happen is for your phone to go dead when you're trying to meet up with your friends.
 8. Cash. Pretty self explanatory.
 9. Snacks. Even if you're not a vegeartian, it can be a struggle (and damn right expensive) getting food at festivals. So pack some snacks or better yet, a few snacks to last you the whole day/night.
 10. Some chewing gum. I'm a big fan of gum. It can get the bad taste out of your mouth from the overpriced food you bought, and it can also help to distract you while you wait in the long toilet line. It may even help a little with the toilet smells if you're lucky!

Oh and last but not least - DON'T FORGET YOUR TICKETS!!!

ODDs & EVENs

I'll be playing some tunes tonight so come on down
... roll the dice and grab yourself a free drink!

My latest girl crush and new favourite band!

How did I ever forget about this song.
Sooooo good. How f*cking hot is she?!

A cold in this heat?

I don't know how... but somehow I've developed a nasty cold amidst this scorching hot weather.
First it was a sore throat, now it's a fully blown dripping nose that won't stop.

Thankfully my chef has been kind enough to bring me juice and cook me soup while I watch endless dvds from bed and hear about everyone else at the beach.
This sucks.
Officially.
I am well and truly over being sick.

On a lighter and more exciting note - these next few months are shaping up to be quite busy. A few highlights to come so far include:
  • Going back to my roots and playing some tunes down at Ching-a-lings on a wednesday night (Starting this wednesday). It's part of the ODDS and EVENS night there; roll the dice for a FREE DRINK!
  • Seeing miss HOLLIE MARTIN finish her painting at Ching-a-lings (fingers crossed it's done so I can see on Wednesday night!)
  • Playing GOOD VIBRATIONS festival next weekend
  • Finally getting my computer updated with some new sounds and music programs. Look out laptop, you're about to get way too full again.
  • Heading on down to melbourne town!
Hopefully at most other times I can start getting myself into writing mode again and make some noise. It's been far too quiet for way to long now.
