Death Strobe Records and Pete Versus Toby are proud to announce a collaborative effort in the form of a super collectible t-shirt and a super vibing party. Come down this Sunday and celebrate at Chinga's with a bite to eat, a few drinks and tunes provided by both parties. yew! x
Thanks so much to Cam and Jack for letting us run rampant in their bar. Shout out to the Pete Versus Toby boys for all their hard work setting up (and the Jagermeister) as well as Don & Johnston, Perfect Snatch, Raz and anyone else who jumped on the decks throughout the day.
Some highlights from the day:
- Sophie and I sun-baking in swimmers out on the deck before people arrived whilst listening to Antoine play some chilled out hip-hop.
- Scott's tasty BBQ (people were going nuts for it) and my extra helpings of tomato sauce.
- Getting to eat the last sausage and bean sandwich before the BBQ caught on fire.
- Cam coming to the rescue and busting out the fire extinguisher to kill the BBQ fire!
- 'Point Blank' hailing all the way from Houston Texas rapping about "Pregnant Pussy" being the best kind of pussy.
I went to see Animal Collective last night and WOW - they did not disappoint. In fact, I was blown away by how well they re-created their recorded sound in a live set-up. I really love The Enmore as a venue and everything about the show was great. Thumbs up. I kind of wish the crowd was a little wilder though - it took "My Girls" to loosen them up. It turned out to be quite a fun (and long) night, but I think the highlight was the Sparkles and Lancey Pants show as you can kind of see from the pictures...
Lance convinced us to wear t-shirts for his magazine FUCKNOATH up to Ching-a-lings. It's pretty genius, I think the latest issue is out soon and I'm sure it's available from skater shops etc...
Way back in August I knew exactly what I wanted for my birthday... I asked my dad for a ticket to see the B52's and I asked Christina to buy herself a ticket and accompany me. Finally, the show date came around and I have to say it lived up to every expectation I had not only of the show but also of a fun (belated birthday) night out with Chris.
As you can see, I think we were close to the youngest people there but that didn't stop the crowd from coming in wigs, drag, knee high boots, mini dresses and B52-ish attire. So I was a little surprised that once the band graced the stage the crowd kind of stood there and didn't get in to the party vibe. A few funny conversations occurred throughout the show:
KRISTY: (to some random guy in audience) Hey can you take a photo of us please?
OLD GUY:Ask someone you haven't pushed
(By the way, I hadn't pushed ANYONE and it was sooooo packed it was impossible not to be touching 5 people at once!)
CHRISTINA: It's a fucking rock concert, it's hard to believe you were ever young once.
OLD GUY:Whatever,I'm still not taking your photo.
CHRISTINA:You know what, it's hard to respect old people when they're such cunts.
(The whole crowd pissed themselves and the old guy ran off in shame)
KRISTY:I am so sorry, but you are just way too sweaty for this area...
The night ended with Chris and I talking our way in to the afterparty (meet and greet) with the help of my BBQ hero Scott.
